I want to try to draw some cohesive analysis from the election results, but it’s so difficult.\u00c2\u00a0 I’m just going to post some things that come across my radar that I responded to.<\/p>\n

Obama is no more just the President of America. He is the nucleus of hopes for the global citizens. I feel he can give a very nice shape to the whole world – a place for living for everybody. \nthe local elections, with more than a little help from Obama
\nsupporters who turned out in record numbers. In relation to the jail
\nand juvenile facility issues, that means that:<\/p>\n
\nexecutive branch of the county, implements policy)
\nTwo of the three commissioner seats were up for election, the third
\nseat stays with Republican Pat Stoffers (R).
\n– Iris Kiesling (D) is a big supporter of a new jail and juvenile
\nfacility. She was re-elected with 61.4% of the vote.
\n– and Mark Stoops (D) opposes the expansion of the jail though
\nsupports a juvenile treatment facility. Won with 62% of the vote.<\/p>\n
\nThree at large seats were up for grabs. There are seven total council
\nmembers at any given time.
\n– Julie Thomas (D) got the most votes, and will join the council. She
\nopposes the jail and supports a juvenile treatment facility.
\n– Warren Henegar (D) was second, and was re-elected to the county
\ncouncil. He supports both the jail and juvenile facility.
\n– Geoff McKim (D) was third, and will also join the council. He
\nconditionally supports the jail – wants only more space for
\nprogramming and improved conditions, NOT for more beds. Also supports
\na juvenile facility.<\/p>\n
