on the ride home from the demo in february, kane asked me if i had ever listened to a band called “the hated”. i hadn’t, but i eventually heard an mp3 and was interested. the other week, when i first got access to a record player, i bought a 7″ of acoustic songs, and i liked it. the other night at the lucero show, kane gave me a cd of tracks he had burned from various releases. i like the stuff, but what strikes me is how normal it sounds. then i think, damn this music is from the early to mid 90s! it’s crazy how many bands straight rip off this sound. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
