sounds pretty common, just match the center pin positive or negative with a 16 VAC adapter that provides at least half an amp; if the connector to the yamaha was saved, you can splice it together pretty good with some electrical tape and seal it up.
Do you know what the 16.8V*2 means? The plug actually has 3 pins. Do you thin I can just wire it so 2 of the pins are connected to 16V and the other to common or do you think the original adapter had 2 transformers? I should have kept it, but chucked it. When I opened it up, it just looked like 1 transformer.
