“The Marvellous is Always Beautiful”
-Andre Breton

A presentation of large music in a large space featuring:

MOUTHBREATHER
GRATIS
BASILICA

GRATIS presents a wall of sound with a complex sense of humor. It would be unfair to say that these hard avant-rockers have been influenced by Mr. Bungle and Psyopus; they have digested them and are using their powers to create a curious and inviting world.        www.myspace.com/gratis

BASILICA features two violins, two guitars, drums, bass, and live video projections. This group of composers and instrumentalists has left the gaiety of the Pantheon Bar in order to conquer the Holy Mountain through explosive performances of engaging music.    www.myspace.com/basilicaproject

MOUTHBREATHER has chosen to stay at home and play guitar, instead of whatever you thought they should do. As a result, they have gotten very good at playing guitar and avoiding what you think they should do. They sing about mutants.    www.myspace.com/mouthbreathermusic

2 Dean Crew + TBA @ Sweet Hickory. 9p.

2 Dean Crew is Dave Dean (former Bloomingtonian) and his brother playing songs that sound similar to the songs he played by himself as Dave Dean’s Musical Forklift.  It is bass and drums with songs that combine the personal, political, historical, and literary in a way that is intelligent, grumpy, and insightful.  I think they sound roughly like a stripped down Minutemen or Red Monkey, but they for sure have a cheap 7″ record that you can buy at Sweet Hickory and is very good so you can hear for yourself.
